Ultrasounds are performed by a licensed technician at the Skypark office, read by your South Bay Family Medical Group physician and reviewed by a board-certified radiologist to insure high quality interpretations.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Vascular ultrasounds allow your physician to measure blood flow, blockage within the arteries and the size of large arteries such as the aorta.  These images are traditional &amp;quot;ultrasounds&amp;quot; in contrast to the new CIMT studies offered at South Bay Family Medical Group. &lt;p&gt;Body organs such as gall bladders, ovaries, and thyroids can be seen well with ultrasound imaging.  In contrast to CT (CAT) scans, ultrasounds allow your physician to evaluate and measure aspects of organs without exposing patients to x-rays or IV contrast material.
